\”Active April\” calendar (4/2024)

Hello and welcome (back) to my blog, dear friends!

Today im here with the light version of the monthly calendars I\’ve been posting since January. More to the point, there are 2 calendars per month – 1 regarding your character strengths and new ways to use them and the other calendar is following a certain theme every month. The character strengths calendar is published at the beginning of every month, and this second one in the middle of the month.

This is why im here with this light version, that does not ask us to make any effort in this area. Just to be/stay active – paying more attention to our bodies and minds, enjoying more the outdoors.Like with everything else, starting small is the key here. The weather should help to be more outdoorsy this month.

As you might know already from my latest blogposts, these calendars suggest a daily activity we can all implement, in order to make ourselves – and the others – feel better, every day. You probably know by now that a walk outside is very, very helpful and important: not only from a physical point of view – helping us to keep our muscles and joints mobile and in good shape. But also from a mental point of view: helping us to disconnect from the \”monkey mind\”, to be more mindful, to find our center and to relax. Mental health specialists recommend their patients to take walks regularly, because they have better effects than the pills.

We all kind of know by now that an active lifestyle has multiple benefits for us, our mental health included. But in case you need some extra motivation:

  • better cardiovascular and overall physical health
  • better mental health and emotional wellbeing
  • you can start being more active at any age
  • you can be more active even if you don\’t feel 100% well
  • dancing is a great way to be physically active – without feeling much of the effort
  • dancing is great for our mood

This calendar, as opposed to the one that appears in the first days of the month, comes from Action for Happiness, \”a movement of people taking action to create a happier and kinder world, together\”. Their vision is \”a happier world, where everyone can thrive\” and they make it their mission \”to help people create a happier world, with a culture that prioritises happiness and kindness\”. And their patron is the Dalai Lama. Need I say more?

Hoping I brought a bit more excitement about your intentions, im looking forward to meeting you, so we can discover together how you can make the jump from \”what\’s wrong\” to \”what\’s strong\” (in you), how you can get rid of your limiting beliefs, form positive habits and stick to your goals. All for a life lived with enthusiasm in the long run.
