Use your strengths to find out your perfect career(s)

Hello friends and welcome back!

Did I peak your curiosity with my previous article?

Well, im glad because I don\’t want to leave you in the dark. You might remember that I mentioned there 3 character strengths, that were suggested to be used every day this month in order to cultivate meaning. And those 3 strengths were Spirituality, Zest and Curiosity.

In this post I will try to give a quick and very easy definition of these character strengths and a few examples too. But also what I promised in the title, so make sure to read until the end.

And in case you don\’t know what a character strength is, you will find the definition in the same previous article. But in short: character strengths are positive personality traits that, when make us feel energised when we use them.

Getting back to the 3 \”graces\” of January, let\’s see what we can make of them:

  • Spirituality – is such a complex notion and it includes so many dimensions: meaning, purpose, beliefs about universe, the transcendent. The scientists have defined it as \”the search for our connection with “the sacred”. How would you define it?
  • Zest – means to approach life with enthusiasm and energy. Zest can be expressed even through the way we get dressed, for example: striking and colorful outfits, shoes or accessories
  • Curiosity – means to be intrigued and open, like an explorer. It\’s our sense of wonder about everything around us, but also within us: our minds, thoughts and emotions.

And as for the promised examples on how to use your strengths, here you have very simple mottos derived from the 24 strengths:

Based on your strengths you can find out what careers are most suitable to you.

In a world where AI is taking over so many types of jobs, one should be prepared in the face of change, which can sometimes be sudden. And we all know we don\’t really love changes – especially if they come when we don\’t want them. Sudden change will most likely find us unprepared and that can lead to confusion, loss of motivation, confidence and enthusiasm, and even to anxiety. Well, to prevent all this…

One way to be prepared is to find ourselves a hobby (which we can also monetize).

But the main way is to find out what are the careers and jobs that are – scientifically – the most suitable for us.

And rest assured, with so many character strengths, and the 5 that are unique to you, you will have where to choose from.

Some of the things I wrote here may seem boring to some of you. If that is the case, focus on the idea behind all the \”science\” stuff: we ALL have these strengths within ourselves and we can use them to increase our wellbeing and enthusiasm.

It\’s all a matter of deciding, taking the 1st step and not giving up. Because if we give up, we give up on ourselves, and that would be a real pity, right :)?

Hoping I made you curious to find out your own character strengths to know at least what careers would be best for you (no matter your age), im looking forward to meeting you so we can discover together how you can use your own strengths in order to get rid of your limiting beliefs, form positive habits and stick to your goals. All for a life filled with more purpose and enthusiasm.

Until next time, stay positive and take care of yourselves!
