About me

I’m Veronica — your guide to thriving through Positive Psychology Coaching

I’m Veronica Svanström and at the core im a Strengths Finder. I’ve been a technical translator and foreign language teacher for the last 25 years and I never planned to become a coach.

I love identifying and promoting natural talents, skills, and positive attributes in others and I am passionate about helping you realize – and actually feel it on an emotional level – that you have already within you all the resources you need to craft the life you truly want.

My Journey

I started delving into psychology back in 2010, when I discovered a series that was discussing in depth the structures of the brain and their functions. But I only applied psychology in my life starting with 2021, after I reached emotional burnout due to the pandemic. That is when I discovered mindfulness meditation and positive psychology.

For the best part of 2022 I studied Positive Psychology with Martin Seligman and his team at the Pennsylvania University, The Science of well-being with Laurie Santos at Yale University, and I became a mindfulness teacher. In 2024 I became a certified coach.

Practicing mindfulness and positive psychology has helped me going through the most difficult 4 years of my life (within the last year alone I lost my father and had to put an end to my 19 years-long committed relationship). But what I also came to realize in these 4 years is that we have within us all the resources – character strengths – to live our life with more self-awareness, a deeper sense of calm, fulfillment and more passion.

When I started seeing the difference in my own life, I felt the the need to dedicate my work to helping people become aware of their strengths. And I’m very grateful to be able to use my core strengths – Appreciation of beauty and excellence, Forgiveness, Honesty, Spirituality and Love of Learning – to help people build on their strengths and start thriving. It’s deeply rewarding and empowering to see how people transform once they start applying their strengths.

As a Positive Psychology and Mindfulness Coach, I am passionate about helping you realize – actually feel it on an emotional level – that all the tools are within you already. And I will be there to guide you as you identify and start using your precious strengths. I look forward to sharing with you the practices meant to help you align your values with your actions, in order to increase your sense of calm and gain more fulfillment.

After realizing that our society is often focused on “what is wrong” instead of
“what is strong”, basically emphasizing our weaknesses, I was lucky to
discover the field of Positive Psychology — and then everything changed. Its
focus on flourishing based on our character strengths inspired me, and I
knew this was the path I wanted to dedicate my life to. My coaching is rooted
in the scientific evidence that every person already holds the key to their
transformation — they just need the right guidance to use it.
